Pregnancy tests look for a specific hormone - this hormone can be found in the urine or blood. Often, the first step is to look for early signs of this hormone with home - pregnancy tests. If your home pregnancy test comes back negative for the hormone that the tests are looking for (hCG) human chorionic gonadotropin, you may want to wait a couple of days and take another home pregnancy test just to be sure.

The hormone (hCG), human chorionic gonadotropin, has been defined as the pregnancy hormone. Human chorionic gonadotropin is created in a woman's body when an egg is successfully fertilized. This is what usually happens: human chorionic gonadotropin develops about approximately six days after fertilization.

The amount of human chorionic gonadotropin in a women's body will increase the longer she is pregnant. Unfortunately, recent studies have shown that home tests are not nearly as accurate as they advertise in the ads. As a matter of fact, these tests are almost not reliable when a woman is truly concerned about becoming (or not becoming pregnant).

Because it is not as accurate to detect human chorionic gonadotropin from a home pregnancy test it is recommend that a woman get blood tests in an actual medical lab. These are the tests that will reveal with your pregnancy results with the most accuracy.

If a home pregnancy test indicates a positive result, you must contact your doctor as soon as possible to begin your pre - natal care. The earlier you begin to see a doctor during your pregnancy the more healthy you can guarantee that your baby will be.

There are two separate types of blood tests used by doctors. It is, certainly, a fact that blood tests such as these can and will pick up signs of human chorionic gonadotropin in the body than in home pregnancy tests which can only examine the urine. If you are concerned about being or becoming pregnant, blood tests are the absolutely safest and most accurate way to find out if you are pregnant. So go to the doctor for a blood pregnancy test, and discuss (at least breifly) with your doctor about the importance of prenatal care.
