Life's Pressures Compel Prayer
Neither desire to cry out and pray
Nevertheless life's countless pressures
Have a humorous and remarkable way
Of driving you to your knees to please
The mighty Maker of heaven and earth
Who enables you to overcome and birth
What you are believing and dreaming for
Supernaturally opening opportunity's door
First however you must come to the end
Of your self-sufficiency and devilish pride
The cynicism by which you arrogantly chide
Disregard your Creator who holds the keys
To your deeply desired and glorious destiny
God knows how to get your attention fully
Circumstances will awaken you certainly
Buffet, bombard, and break you badly
Afterward you'll wrestle with your identity
Wonder if you thought presumptuously
To embark upon this lifelong journey
Question whether you moved hastily
Disregarded advisers who foolishly
Thought to discount and discourage thee
Fear not friend! Neither vacillate hesitantly
Don't let others assessments make you fall
The missing link is the means to stand tall
Endure, succeed, and press through it all
Pres. Abraham Lincoln they cound't diminish
Though a Civil War tried to destroy and finish
Mandating three days of prayer and fasting
Honest Abe sought God for divine direction
Wisdom, assistance, and intervention
By which he unified our great nation
Brought about a glorious salvation
Redeeming it from degradation
Blood, tyranny, and slavery
Standing tall in prayer greatly
Bowing honorably in humility
Herein is how we give God glory
Acknowledge the marvels of His story
The warrior and captain of the hosts
In whom our soul triumphantly boasts.
When bowing and praying on your knees
It is there you find personal power to free
Your heart, mind, soul, self, and ability
To awaken within your gifts and talents
Joyfully breakthrough and not lament
Leave the past behind and redeem time
Visualize your future and opportunity's door
Which shall open unto you supernaturally
As you partner with your Creator humbly
Focus fervently and go forward consistently
Into your magnificent purpose miraculously.
