Indian wedding dresses are reflection of the rich culture of the country. Weddings in India are such an exciting and fun occasion. This affair is an elaborate celebration of the couple's families as they join together to commemorate this festive event. Wedding dresses are precious to the bride. Every bride dreams of a perfect wedding and a perfect appearance as she walks down the aisle. Along with other accessories like jewelries, hairstyle, makeup and footwear can complement to the total look of a dashing bride on her big day.

With Indian wedding ceremony, it is more of a reflection of their culture and traditions. They strongly believe that wedding is a sacred event and the bringing together of two people who are compatible. Many rituals are included in the pre-marriage and wedding proper. The rituals involved in the ceremonies differ by religion. Unlike the western and modern wedding ceremony, Indian has their own way of celebrating the union of the bride and groom.

The Indian wedding is special event and the festivity lasts for several days. Part of the fun and highlight of the occasion lies on the wedding dresses worn by the bride, groom, families and friends. Indian wedding dresses are glamorous. Both men and women have the chance of dressing up and match accessories to clothes. For the fabric, Indian brides prefer silk. Others also like their wedding dresses to be made of light fabrics for them not to bear the heavy dresses with embellishments. All the folks attending the wedding are decked up with gold jewelries including the bride and sometimes the groom. The ladies are also adorned with henna patterns on their palms, hands, forearms, legs and feet.

The wedding lasts for several days and new attire is worn each day. The color of the dresses symbolizes the meaning of the marriage. This is just a way of expressing how Indian wedding is particular with rituals, accessories and dresses that they wear during the said event.

As a whole, Indian wedding dresses reveal the diversity of its culture and tradition. Every region has a distinct dress code for weddings and with its color bearing its own significance. In the northern region, wedding dresses makes use of red and green color while southern region are known for cream color attires.

Regardless of the variety, India remains to be a place with rich culture and traditions. And one of its unique traditions is on how they celebrate marriage. They will remain unique in their own way as compared with the western and modern practice. And Indian wedding dresses will continue to showcase their uniqueness and elegance.
