1. If it is at all possible, make sure that you plan for some quiet time or time to reflect before you go on a date. This may seem hokey or being overly prepared for the moment, but you should really come to terms with what you want to achieve during the date to prepare for what could come next.

2. Put yourself in the right from of mind when you prepare for a date from the angle of, "it is only a date". If you put too much into it or worry too much about it then you will inevitably make yourself uncomfortable and not be ready or excited for the actual date itself.

3. One thing that can be particularly nerve racking while you prepare for a date is to prepare your clothing ensemble. Don't wait until the last minute, start preparing at the earliest possible opportunity. It may not be the end of the world, but it can cause a great deal of unneeded frustration and anxiety.

4. While your intentions may be the best, remember not to overdue the colognes or potions that you put on while you prepare for a date. It may smell good and acceptable to you, but it could easily be too much for your date and cause undue discomfort.

5. When you have that nervous time or anxious time as you prepare for a date, sit at the computer or get out an old fashioned map and know where you are going! Your nerves will be bad enough without it, so don't take the chance of being lost adding to your concerns on the night.

6. If you have some nervous energy that you must expend then put on some of your favorite music as you are heading out or preparing for your date at home. Dance or sing along to get out some energy and get your mind off of the task at hand, to have a great time on your date!

7. As long as you know your limits and don't overdue it then it is okay for you to have a little wine or something to relax before the date begins. It takes a lot and can be very stressful to prepare for a date, don't let it get the best of you!

8. Think about a few things that you think are acceptable to talk about as you prepare for a date. Conversation is extremely stressful to come up with if you don't know what to say so think of a few things to ask him/her before the date begins.

9. As you may be overly excited and interested in getting to know your date, make sure that your preparation doesn't make you interrogate your date. Asking questions is a great thing to do to express your interest, but don't question them about their answers, it could be misconstrued in the beginning stages of your relationship.

10. Be sure that you are going somewhere that is a more public setting when you are getting ready to prepare for a date. It may be fun to have a place to yourself, but it may not be safe until you truly feel you know the person.
