Unlike male erectile dysfunction, female sexual dysfunction has not been the subject of numerous clinical trials. It is only recently that researchers (and pharmaceutical companies) have begun to address female sexual dysfunction as part of the search for other therapeutic applications for type IPDE-5 molecules originally developed to treat male sexual dysfunction.

Experts do not entirely agree on the prevalence of sexual dysfunction in women. Some brandish the results of studies which suggest that almost half of women suffer from sexual dysfunction. Others are sceptical about the value of these data, noting that they come from researchers wishing to find new outlets for their lucrative pharmaceutical molecules.

In the most frequently cited study, the authors estimate that 43% of women suffer from sexual dysfunction. This high percentage results from the initial assumption that all women who experienced symptoms during the last year (decrease in sexual desire, anxiety about sexual performance, etc.) suffered from sexual dysfunction. Experts believe that this is a misinterpretation that results from unnecessarily medicalized disorders that are not necessarily medical.

Relationship problems: unresolved conflicts with the partner are often reflected by a desire to initiate sex and to intimately slacken off with his/her partner.

Chronic diseases or diseases that cause pain and fatigue: Arthritis, cancer, diabetes, kidney or heart failure are serious diseases that greatly affect the style of life, energy and psychological state, which often indirectly affects sexual eagerness. The Sjögren syndrome is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the production of lubricating fluids. It causes vaginal pain because coital vaginal dryness is a symptom of this disease.

Stress, depression, anxiety: The stress generated by concerns (this includes the fact of wanting to absolutely satisfy his or her partner), stress, anxiety or depression generally reduce sexual desire and slacking of.

Sexual violence: Victims of sexual abuse often report sharp pain during sex.

Some medications: Hypotensive drugs decrease the blood flow to the clitoris and the genitals, making it more difficult to achieve orgasm. Contraceptive pills, which make levels of oestrogen vary, dry vaginal mucous membranes in some women. Among the medications that cause vaginal dryness, there are also antihistamines and antidepressant drugs.

Douching: Regular practice of vaginal douching (three or more times per month) for hygiene, has the effect of altering the natural balance of vaginal flora and increases the risk of vaginitis. As known, the vaginitis dries the vaginal wall and makes sexual intercourse painful. NB: As you can notice, the disorders of desire may lead to coital pain and this may be the cause of reduced libido, or even an inability to achieve orgasm. It is not always easy to determine the causes of dysfunction, which are sometimes multiple and could be psychological as well as physiological.

Herbal treatment may be a very effective solution to cure female sexual dysfunctions. Herbal formulations are generally shaped on herbal capsules for women that effectively work on eliminating female sexual disorders and increasing sexual desire by increasing blood flow to the vaginal area. This process is achieved by working on major hormones that include testosterone and estrogen. Herbal therapy has the huge advantage to be totally free from any side-effect, thus it is very safe for health.

The search continues to discover the value of medicinal plants in the treatment and prevention of sexual diseases and herbal medicine is increasingly recognized by the general consensus. However, the curative potential of thousands of plants, especially in remote areas of the world is far from being proven and suffers from a lack of documentation. The possibilities are so endless.
