When it comes to acne, there are things that all people do to try to get rid of the problem. They wash their faces and apply their chosen cream right before they go to bed. They might also take care to drink lots of water and exercise regularly. But acne treatment often requires more complicated measures and a comprehensive approach is the best. There are plenty of things that people don't take into account, or maybe they simply forget. Here are some of the things you should make sure to remember if having clear skin is your goal.

The glands and pores on your face can be very sensitive, and you never really know what will set them off. In most cases, it's best to avoid caffeine when possible because it can cause your skin to become more dehydrated. Since so much of your acne has to do with hormones, you should also watch your stress levels to make sure you don't set your body chemistry off kilter. In general, a combination of bad habits like drinking caffeine, allowing stress to build up, and smoking cigarettes can have a profound effect on the way your skin looks and feels.

When thinking of how to get rid of acne, it's important to remember what causes it. Since one of the main contributors is oil, you want to limit that as much as possible. While most people wash their faces, many others forget about their hair as a source of oil that can clog pores. So always make sure to clean your hair, especially if it is long enough to touch your face. And while oily food might not lead to acne every time, many people are not aware that their hands touch their faces after eating something like fries or fried chicken. This can cause blockages in pores as well, not to mention pack on the calories in your overall diet. Evidently, since acne can be such a complicated problem, it's important not to forget all the little things that can lead to breakouts.
