Before you commit to renting a venue for your wedding reception, there are some questions important questions you should ask. Before you visit the venue site make a list of what you want to know otherwise you may get so excited once you arrive you may forget to ask for specific details..

Here are 21 questions you may want to ask:

* Is the date and time you selected available? Are there other events taking place there on the same day, and could those cause possible conflicts?

* How many people can the venue comfortably hold?

* What is the rental free? What other fees are there? Is there additional rental fees for the tables, chairs, linens etc? Is there a corkage fee for alcohol?

* Can you bring your own caterers? Alcohol? Music? Servers? * Will you have the use of a refrigerator? A stove?

* Where are the electrical sources? A microphone?

* When can you have access to the venue site to decorate, and when must you be out?

* Is there any type of restrictions on the decorations that are allowed?

* How much parking is available, and where is it? Is parking free? Where can a limousine pull up?

* How many restrooms are there? Where are they located?

* Will an employee from the venue be on site during the reception to deal with problems or questions? Is there an extra charge for this?

* Can we control the air-conditioning, heating, lighting?

* How large is the dance floor? What type of flooring is it?

* Do you need to get any special permits. such as for serving alcohol?

* Is there a limit on amplified music (does it need to stop at a certain time?)

* Is the site handicapped accessible? Can the elderly navigate the facilities easily?

* Is the site insured? What does that cover?

* Who is responsible for cleanup?

* Is lodging available on-site? How many rooms are available, and what is the cost? Do they offer a wedding package discount?

* Is a deposit required? What's the cancellation policy?

When you sign your contract for the wedding venue, be sure to read it very carefully before signing. Never assume anything and always make sure every detail you discussed in in the contract.
