XT1 biodegradable golf tees bring to you the golfer a fundamental that you will not want to be without.

Biodegradation
In North America there is a prerequisite that in competition golf the golf tees are biodegradable. Natural wood tees are considered to be inherently biodegradable even though they may take 1-2 years before they fully disappear; the use of lacquer or paint on the wood tees can further extend the rate of biodegradation by as much as an additional 1-2 years.
XT1 golf tees have been designed to be fully biodegradable. The tee is made from corn and starch and is fully biobased, not dependant on petroleum based resins.
Whilst the composition and design of the XT1 golf tee was selected to provide maximum performance for the golfer, it was also designed to minimize the environmental impact on the golf course by degrading at a faster rate than traditional wood golf tees. The biodegradation process is through surface erosion of the tee due to microbes naturally occurring in the soil with the formation of water and carbon dioxide, no toxins are produced during the biodegradation process. Carbon dioxide is sequestered from the atmosphere in the production of corn, hence the degradation process is carbon neutral. Typical degradation time for the XT1 tees that have been cut by mower blades in temperatures greater than 40F is around 2-3 months, which is 6 to 10 times faster than natural wood tees.
Whilst other suppliers of plastic golf tees claim that their products are biodegradable because of the high mass of these tees and the thicker dimensions, they degrade at a much slower rate than XT1 tees
