Where can you find help for sagging skin? Is there a "magic" cream that will solve the problem? Well, the answer is "maybe". There are actually a number of things that you can do to improve firmness. Let's look at the "holistic" approach.

Are you well hydrated?

The skin's moisture content is related to its elasticity and firmness. The two go hand in hand. If you are not drinking enough water, then you will experience excessive dryness and possibly flaking. You may start to see your neckline sag, but, of course, that also accompanies the aging process.

Are you using an effective moisturizer?

The average lotions and creams on the market offer no help for sagging skin. They contain petroleum based oils that do not penetrate. If used continuously, these "non" moisturizers actually interfere with the skin's natural rejuvenation processes.

Plant based oils like grape seed, avocado; jojoba and Shea butter are effective moisturizers. They do penetrate deeply and grape seed, because of its "filming" ability helps to lock that moisture in, but there is something even more effective.

Have you heard of "functional keratin"?

It's a patented ingredient that can only be found in the best anti-aging products. In clinical studies it has been shown to provide help for sagging skin, reduce wrinkles and counter many of the signs of aging.

Keratin is a protein and amino acid proteins are the skin's building blocks. Protein is used to build cells and it is used to hold them together, creating the fibers that provide the firmness and elasticity that you need.

You may see other lotions and creams on the market that contain keratin, but "functional keratin" is new. Until recently, the only way to create a keratin-based lotion was to use harsh chemicals and high heat to liquefy animal horns and hooves.

Functional keratin is created by squeezing sheep's wool, capturing the fatty oil that the sheep produces and extracting the protein from it. The result is then processed gently, so that all of the active or "functional" properties are still available.

After using lotions and creams containing this unique form of keratin, volunteers have seen these results (which were measured by scientific researchers):

14% improvement in moisture retention

27% improvement in hydration after the first use

42% sustained improvement in elasticity over 18 days

That sounds like a lot of help for sagging skin to me. There were other results measured by researchers that were not visible to the volunteers. Researchers measured increased production of new skin cells, which makes sense, because protein is needed to produce a cell. They also saw that the compound is a natural anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant.

Antioxidants counter free radical production, prevent and repair damage. Recently, dermatologists published a report saying that free radical damage was the cause of all of the signs of aging, including saggy skin. So, of course antioxidants provide help for sagging skin. Now that you know what steps to take, I bet you'll be looking younger, in no time.
