Essential Internet Marketing Software Part I
Forget the design of the website itself. It is obvious that you must have a website, so we will not consider the software required for that here. You will probably have software such as Front Page or Dreamweaver, or even a simple HTML or wysiwyg editor to design your pages, but that is not the purpose of this article. It is the other stuff that you need to run an internet business that we are concerned with here. It is beyond the scope of a single article to discuss them all, so let's look at the essential ones.
You might have read a lot about autoresponders, but that is one of the most important tools of your internet business. It would take too long for me to extol its virtues so let me provide you with a simple list of what an autoresponder can do for you. In doing this, I am assuming that you understand the basics of internet marketing, the importance of lists, and keeping in regular touch with your contacts.
A good autoresponder provides you with an opt-in form to place on your website, and adds the respondents' details to the database that comprises your list. It also administers your double opt-in system and delivers any gifts offered for the registration.
If you have a newsletter, an instruction course or any other items that need to be emailed at regular intervals, then the autoresponder will do that on pre-programmed dates. You can write a dozen email messages and program them to be sent to everybody in your list on certain dates. Not only on specific dates, but also at a specified number of days after registration. This allows you write, for instance, a seven part e-course, and program the autoresponder to send it to every person that registers over a pre-set period after registration; twice a week or weekly or at any interval between parts that your want.
It will also deal will emails thanking customers for making a purchase, send receipts and even back-up emails asking them if they are happy with their purchase. An autoresponder is essential to any online business.
