Menopause Anxiety: What Is Happening To Me?

After I had a heart attack the doctor said I should stop taking estrogen.

I slowly decreased my tablets until I was no longer taking them.

Next week I have an appointment with the cardiologist and I am going to request that I go back on the pills or he will have to suggest an alternative method to control the symptoms you get when going through the change as it has been referred to.

The time I have been off the estrogen has been the worst time I can remember.

I might go so far as to say it is a close race between these symptoms and the heart attack.

For me there has been such a change in the quality of life I have and maybe the benefits out way the risks.

The anxiety that goes along with the other factors I am dealing with has put taken its toll on my family and I have had to renew and review some of the techniques and programs I use to combat anxiety.

This is the time that support from family and friends is so important.

Believing I can find a way through humor, visualization, journalling and talking to other women to find my way through this stage of life is a positive force in helping myself.

Helping the self is important because you must treat yourself just as well as you would a friend.

We tend to let ourselves not be the first priority.

After years of conditioning to do for others first, I believe women find the concept of putting others second almost impossible.

It is a skill we must train ourselves for and learn this new attitude.

As with other forms of anxiety, panic ,depression and even phobias it is a combined effort of skills, medical and perhaps spiritual intervention that will enable us to take action and therefore obtain results.

Menopause does not last forever so I take heart with the knowledge that I will prevail and this next stage in life will not consume me and have power over me.

I will not allow that to happen and telling myself and affirming this everyday will be a factor in creating my own winners image.
