Is it safe for you to take the weight off and keep it off? For those who want to lose weight, this question is critical. The reasons people keep weight on are limitless. More often than not, people are unaware-even shocked-when they realize that their weight is protection-a secondary gain; a way to act out sadness or anger/rage, and they really don't want to let go of the excess weight.

It is as if there are two people within them-two part of themselves. One part wants desperately to release the excess weight, and another part wants that instant satisfaction that sweet-sugary, fatty food high. These secondary gains can be deep seated and a major obstacle and challenge in a person's ability to let go of the excess weight.
