How much have you already gone through? How much have you spent with
little or no relief? What can you do to safely, painlessly, and effectively remove your moles, warts, or skin tags?

Warts, moles and skin tags are very common. They are lesions on the skin and most are benign or non cancerous. However it is always wise to visit your doctor to make certain which type they are before trying any remedies or treatments yourself.

We all have them to a greater or lesser extent. Most of us would like to be rid of all or least some of them. What are they and what can we do about them?

What Are Moles?

Moles are growths on the skin that are usually black or brown. They may be in groups or alone. Moles occur when cells called melanocytes grow in clusters instead of being spread about the skin. Melanocytes make the pigment which gives skin its color.

Moles generally start to appear in early childhood and continue to appear during the first 20 years of our lives. Some particular types may be present at birth. Moles can and do change as we age. They may become raised, change colour or even disappear. Sun exposure and pregnancy tend to cause them to darken.

What Are Warts?

Warts are skin growths caused by a viral infection in the top layer of the skin. The viruses that cause warts belong to a "family" called the humanpapillomavirus or HPV for short. Warts are usually skin colored and feel rough to the touch, but can be dark, flat or smooth. Some grow out above the skin but some, such as plantar warts on the feet, grow down under the skin.

Because warts are caused by a virus, they can be caught. You can become infected by the wart virus through direct skin contact or by touching moist areas such as shower floors and areas around swimming pools after an infected person has used them. Some people seem to be more susceptible to the HPV virus than others.

What Are Skin Tags?

Skin tags are are a small flap of tissue that hangs off the skin by a connecting stalk. They tend to appear on moist areas of the skin or where the skin is often rubbed or irritated for example by clothing.

Why Remove Them?

Common moles, warts and skin tags may cause problems ranging from a minor nuisance to something that has a major effect on your everyday life. You may want them removed for practical reasons because they itch, bleed or cause pain and irritation. Or it may be for cosmetic reasons. The need to remove them for cosmetic reasons is not just one of vanity.

Moles, warts and skin tags can be unsightly and cause much embarassment and loss of self-esteem. Many people avoid exposing their skin, because they are embarassed by their warts, moles or skin tags. They feel restricted in their choice of clothing and deny themselves the pleasure of going to the beach or local gym.

How Can Moles, Warts And Skin Tags Be Removed?

There are four removal methods commonly used:

1. Chemical Based Treatments

This method is relatively cheap and can be obtained at your local pharmacy. It consists of a variety of gels, paint, lotions, creams and medicated plasters.

They all use chemicals to slowly burn away the affected skin. This can cause soreness, some scarring and often needs to be repeated. This method takes time as you usually need to cover the lesion with the treatment for a few days for each application.

2. Cryotherapy

This method freezes the affected area with a liquid gas. Cryotherapy is a more expensive option than chemical treatments and is usually done by your Doctor. It is more painful than creams or lotions as the lesion is actually burnt off with the frozen gas in a few seconds. It causes temporary blistering of the skin and may also need more than one application.

3. Surgery

Surgery is usually only considered after trying the above methods first. Surgery is the more expensive option. A local or even general anaesthetic is required, depending on the size and location of the lesion. Stitches may also be needed.

A number of different methods are used, depending on the size and type of the mole, wart or skin tag. The lesion may be shaved down to the level of the skin using a surgical blade or electro-surgery. Some lesions that have "roots" down into the skin will be entirely cut out or "excised." These will require stitches to close the wound. Skin tags will usually be snipped off with surgical scissors. After surgery there is some pain, bleeding and there may be temporary or even permanent nerve damage. Scarring can also be a problem.

4. Natural Alternative Methods.

There are many alternative health and wellness approaches. 90% of the population who use mainstream procedures find they do not provide long term results. All natural programs offer an alternative. These methods which you can try in your own home can be simple, inexpensive, effective, and easy to follow. It is good to know there are natural solutions to these nagging little problems. These methods address your skin condition with natural ways to heal and restore it without the side effects of traditional approaches.

If you want to be rid of the unsightly problem of warts, moles or skin tags, I urge you to find out more about your options. There really are choices. Take action now and find out about them and which method is best for you.
