So you've decided to make 2010 the Year of the Healthy You! If you truly want to keep your new year's resolution this year, you can do it. The secret to successfully changing your habits is to start small. Make tiny changes, but make several of them.

Be specific in your goals. Instead of saying "I will lose ten pounds," resolve to dance, walk or work out for twenty-thirty minutes most days of the week.

And instead of declaring you will "drink more water," affirm to drink 6-8 glasses of water most days of the week. Purchase a water bottle that you really like, such as one with your favorite team's logo or the name of a charity you support. You will be more prone to fill it up several times a day and carry it with you if it is also a conversation piece.

Find a new way to get in some more physical exercises as well. Why not try one of the new work-out video games? These games not only provide a personal trainer, but also keep track of your success. Investing in one of these systems instead of signing a gym membership contract will have you working out at home on a daily basis.

Do you want to eat a healthier diet? Try a Meat Free Monday and resolve to eat only plant-based foods one or two days a week.

By making these small changes and sticking to them, your New Years' Resolutions will become old habits by the end of the year!
