The most affordable dental benefit plans available in the United States are known as dental discount plans. Dental discount plans are exactly what they say they are, a discount plan. This is how it works. A large group of dentists have come together to form and network of service providers. This network has buying power for things that all of these dentists must have each day in older to run their practice. This is one of the benefits of working together with the network.

This is a huge benefit for you the consumer because it allows you to get affordable dental care by simply paying cash at the time of your visit. Let me explain. These dentists have agreed to perform dental procedures for anywhere from 10 to 60% less than other dentists. The only requirement, as stated above, is that you must pay cash at the time of your appointment.

Example, let's say that you need a root canal performed and the standard price of a root canal is $550. Let's say that because you have a discount plan the dentist is going to give you a 40% discount. This is a savings of $220, so your total cost at the time of your visit would only be $330. These plans cost anywhere from $80 annually for an individual up to $150 annually for a family, depending on the plan that you use, this figure is based on a very common plan. Even if you deduct $150 from the $220 savings for this one procedure, you'll still come out saving $70, not including any other savings that you and your family to take advantage of for the next 12 months. This could be on any other dental procedure such as bridge work, orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, fillings, extractions, x-rays, cleanings and much, much more.

The next time that you're looking at affordable dental benefit plans here in the US, I recommend that you take a good look at dental discount plans. They are simply the best thing around.
