Eye Lid Surgery a Hit With Famous Celebrities

They may not admit it but some of our favorite celebrities are believed to have undergone blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery to eliminate their eye bags and give them a fresher and more youthful look.

This is the opinion of some plastic surgeons who have noticed the dramatic changes in Bono, George Clooney, and other stars that now look "different" allegedly because of plastic surgery. These interesting observations can be gleaned from mybodypart.com.

U2 lead singer Bono is no longer wearing his trademark sunglasses these days and his eye bags have mysteriously disappeared, making some doctors speculate that he has gone under the knife recently.

Dr. Lucy Glancey, a UK-based plastic surgeon, said bruising is a common "aftermath" of such a procedure that normally lasts for six weeks. She said this is the reason why Bono has been hiding under those sunglasses for quite some time.

"I definitely think Bono has had lower blepharoplasty - lower eyelid surgery - which the plaster covered up back in December. He probably had quite a bit of bruising under the eye at this time - sometimes you get no bruising after surgery, sometimes you get bruising under just one eye, giving what looks like a black eye. A proper black eye could take up to six weeks to heal, on top of slight scarring, which would explain why Bono has remained hidden under sunglasses until now," Glancey said.

Forty-five-year-old Clooney is another celebrity who's looking good these days. While that may due to the success of his Ocean's film series, others argue that blepharoplasty may be the main reason why the handsome actor doesn't look "tired" nowadays.

Clooney himself has joked about his alleged surgery on two occasions. At Cannes, Don Cheadle, Clooney's co-star at Ocean's 13, told the actor he only had one eye done. Clooney replied that he wanted to try it first and "give it a test run."

When interviewed by Julia Roberts for an Oprah Winfrey special on the Oscars, Clooney again joked about his "blepharoplasty." Roberts asked the actor what was the most important change he did in his life to which Clooney replied, "I had my eyes done, Can you tell? I think it's important to look awake."

"Whether Clooney is telling the truth or not, his remarkable appearance is doing all the talking as of the moment. Clooney no longer has under-eye bags and his eyes are more open than before. He appears to have had a full blepharoplasty on both his upper and lower eyelids," said George Lindemann at mybodypart.com.

Blepharoplasty may be a good solution for people with eye bags provided they have money to burn and are willing to go through surgery and its possible risks.
