United We Stand
Barack Obama is now getting a taste of reality and what it'll mean to be the president and not just president elect. He's holding his first press conference today after meeting with his economic advisors. He now gets daily intelligence briefings- just like George Bush. And I am sure that his view of the world is now beginning to change as a result of knowing what he once did not know.
He's also starting to find out just how much of his life is no longer his. He can't just hop in his car and go to the gym to work out. We got pictures yesterday of him riding in a car surrounded by secret service agents who weren't all that secret with their rifles in arm and ready to fire.
Barack is a symbol of national racial reconciliation and international religious toleration.
Now, if we can just get the church and Christians to buy in to that we might have a chance. History tells us that the church and Christians won't necessarily behave as one might think Christians should. Christians should kill other Christians-or anyone. Sunni Muslims shouldn't kill Shiite Muslims, etc. Ah, but we know we do!
Democrat, Republican, Independent, Libertarian, or atheist sectarian, we should ALL be praying for the success of Barack Obama. Pray for his safety. We all know that there are lunatics out there of many different colors. We need to lighten up and quit criticizing for a week maybe? Could we not do that at least. Hey, El Rushbo, can you go a DAY without slamming Obama? Try it, you might like it.
Obama is going to miss the mark in many ways; however, to keep the drums beating does no one any good. No one!
Most importantly, until we become more civil, tolerant, forgiving, and merciful, we are not going to see a safe and prosperous world. It's as simple as the title above. A house divided will fall. It's in the Bible and the Koran. United we stand. Let's UNITE, while we still can.
