These is the Psychophysiology of Stress
Psychophysiology of Stress is vital to consider when you are thinking of how stress occurs. The brain is a key organ when it comes to stress and this has been seen by scientists to be so, over the years. Divorcing the brain from stress is therefore not practical for they go together. Stress is a condition that happens to living things where many factors come to play to ensure that you are not performing at peak in all your faculties. The factors are sometimes referred to as stressors and they may be sociological, biological, psychological even philosophical.
On the topic of psychophysiology of stress the main thing that comes out is that people react differently to various stressors. You cannot determine conclusively how a certain stressor is going to affect a group of people because their brains will all read the stressor very differently. Our senses play the part of informing the brain of the external stress triggers and the brain interprets reactions in individuals. The brain has been termed as the true origin of stress. Because of this aspect, no one can really tell what the result of stress might be from individuals or what factor specifically caused the stress in the first place.
All this was proven by a certain experiment that researchers undertook. And interestingly enough, it was clear that psychophysiological factors came out to inform us of the intensity and complexity of our brains in regard to stress. A certain group of students were asked to close their eyes in a calm moment and relax until there was total peace. Without their expectation in a very quick moment a big book was slammed and at the same time a researcher screamed. The initial reaction of most students was a quick peak to reality but, the amazing fact was that some students screamed, others jumped and a host of very many other reactions.
This is to show that after the senses communicated a stressor factor within a split second, the various brains created different perceptions and hence different reactions. Some people may have been reacting to their fears while others to what their imagination may have considered a danger. It is also vital to mention the physical reactions of the experiment where muscles tightened, heartbeat also increased an others. This was the normal way for the body to react to stress. When it comes to the brain's reaction, it is hard to tell and this confirms that everyone will react in their own unique way.
It is vital to lean this aspect as well as other aspects and dynamics of stress so that we can get to understand our systems better. When we put a few things into action we will find that we are able to deal better with the issue of stress in our lives. You will also be in a position to help others around you on the way the brain functions in regard to stress. The ultimate goal is to lead a stress free life.
