Stress Relief Idea #1 - Listen to soothing music. If you own an MP3 player, download a nice variety of soothing music. Whether you enjoy soft jazz, easy listening or classical music doesn't matter. Keep a good variety of your favorites readily available for 5- or 10-minutes de-stressing sessions.
Stress Relief Idea #2 - Laugh out loud. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how much laughing can relieve tension. Read the funny paper. Buy the latest issue of a comic book. Read some jokes. Skim through the humor section of greeting cards in a store.
Stress Relief Idea #3 - Go for a walk. Walking is an easy form of exercise that is conducive to stress relief. Walking outdoors helps you get back in touch with nature.
Stress Relief Idea #4 - Light a candle. Keep a handful of small scented candles on hand (or a pillar candle of your favorite scent!) for stressful days. Light a candle, grab a book, and relax in your easy chair.
Stress Relief Idea #5 - If you enjoy hot bubble baths, light your candles, dim the lights and soak in a nice hot bubble bath. Lock the door, turn off the phone and settle in for a 30-minute DIY spa soak.
Stress Relief Idea #6 - Take a Kickboxing Aerobics class. Several years ago I joined a Kickboxing Aerobics class. I was nervous at first because I'd never done any type of exercise like this. I thoroughly enjoyed this exercise though. The kicking and punching in the air, combined with kicking and punching a bag is highly effective in relieving stress after a long day.
