While it is quite frightening unfortunately to recognize that the divorce rate is hovering around the 40% to 50% rate, as long as you are still married or have fathered or mothered a child; chances are there's always a good possibility you could be the next person headed to family court. It happened to me; and it sure can happen to you. Children do not ask to be born; or come into this evil world. It's very unfortunate many children have to go through the pain of divorce or family separation.

As I look back over my experience while being in a custody dispute several years ago both me and my ex-spouse was guilty of using our child as if she was just another piece of an asset that comes and goes. One thing you should attempt to do is leave your children out of all the differences you and your spouse may have. It's certain children will feel the tension and the bad vibes while experiencing the heartaches of divorce issues and family separation. Though things may be going well with you right now; as long as you are married and you have children then you are a candidate for the court system. Things may be peaches and cream, or clear as running water right now, but you still need to know your parental rights and responsibilities.

While I was married I had no reasons to learn my parental rights and responsibilities so I thought. Then when I began to see things wasn't working out with my daughter's mom; O boy I thought a new learning curve to adjust to while being involved in a custody dispute. It appeared things were always in favor of my daughter's mom until I began exercising my parental rights and responsibilities. The challenges you will face can be overwhelming to the degree you just want to throw your hands up in the air and give up. Though you will get battered and bruised along the way; continue to fight for the "well being" of your child or children while in a custody dispute.

I'm living proof and a living testimony that you can apply the court system rules to benefit you when all seems to be going against you. You will experience many different curve balls, high balls, and even some very low balls that will attack your integrity and creditability. I strongly encourage you to get familiar with your parental rights and responsibilities according to your state laws where you reside. There's nothing better than making the court system work for you while being in a custody dispute. Hang in there; and don't give up.

Your child or children are an asset to you and not a liability. Look, Children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of your womb is a reward. Psalm 127:3.
