Putting the Ease in Squeeze: A Beginners Guide to Creating Squeeze Pages
Think about it this way: in "the real world" any time you interact with someone you ALWAYS learn something about the person you are interacting with... it's a two-way street. A handshake, a conversation, an exchange of business cards, whatever. It's a two-way street.
On the internet it's very different. If you don't have a squeeze page that 'prompts' people to share a little something about themselves then you are losing hundreds of business opportunities as people browse through your website and learn about YOU... without so much as leaving their name! The beauty is you can meet people through your squeeze page by simply inviting them to introduce themselves to you by leaving their name and email address. In return you give them something of value that can be downloaded instantly. Tips, perhaps, sent via email. An E-Book. Something to get that prospect interested and get them on your list. When you're asking for names and email addresses, people expect to know what they're getting back in exchange for their information.
This really is one of the fundamental cornerstones of Internet Marketing: to get a simple website up and running and get a Squeeze page working (in conjunction with an Auto Responder) so that you can capture these leads. Once you have them on your "list" you can market to the on an ongoing basis. Here are three tips and tricks to use when you build your first squeeze page:
-There should be no outgoing links on your squeeze page. If you have to have some, your best bet is to make them small, and put them at the bottom of the page. The only thing a visitor should be able to do when they get to your squeeze page is enter information. Put the focus on that... and not on banners, pay per click, or links to other information.
- A squeeze page should have just enough info to get someone to download a free gift and opt in to your email list. Keep it short. 3-5 bullet points and a great headline can be very persuasive.
- Make your Submit Button a compelling "call to action." You can change it when you're designing your form. Don't get scared here: most Auto-Responder services will have a "form designer" built in, which will make this a lot easier... So change that Submit Button! Make it say something like "Instant Access" or "Click to Join." Anything is better than "Submit."So there you have the inside scoop on Squeeze Pages. I hope this makes sense and I hope you found it useful!
