Our bodies are subject to many nutritional deficiencies, and symptoms are actually better indicators of nutritional deficiency than signs. The following are symptoms of some nutritional deficiencies:

Having cold hands all of the time could very well indicate a magnesium deficiency. Having white spots or ridges on your fingernails would indicate a zinc deficiency. Soft or brittle nails indicate magnesium deficiency, and often those who bite or chew their nails have a general mineral deficiency, and subconsciously try to make up for it by biting their nails.

For many, especially pregnant women, stretch marks on the skin can be an indicator of zinc deficiency. Dry scaly skin with hair follicles plugged with coiled distorted hairs and a red halo, or spontaneous bleeding of the skin often means that you suffer from a vitamin C deficiency. And problems like pimply rough skin at the back of the upper arms usually indicates that you are missing some of the essential fatty acids needed.

The list goes on and on: in your mouth if you have a pale fissured tongue you likely have an iron deficiency. If your have a sore burning tongue and lips and peeling of lips you might have a vitamin B2 deficiency. If you have bleeding gums, you likely have a vitamin C deficiency.

The list does not end there: greasy red scaly skin on your face or on the sides of nose can often be attributed to a vitamin B2 deficiency. An acne like forehead rash is due to a vitamin B6 deficiency. Cataracts in the eyes may mean a chromium deficiency or excess free radicals. Bags or dark rings under eyes are not always because of lack of sleep, they can also be attributed to allergies or food intolerances. Often for those with blue eyes and premature grey hair, there might be a vitamin B12 deficiency. Thyroid swelling may indicate iodine deficiency.

Other nutrient deficiencies such as magnesium and CoQ10 deficiencies and sensitivity to caffeine can cause many problems with the heart, including irregular beat, high blood pressure, and cardiomegaly.

Basically there are tons of symptoms of nutrient deficiencies, and many of the common ailments in people can be solved through proper nutrition; everything from sore muscles, to hyperactivity can be linked to nutrient deficiency. Thus, you can see that to enjoy a happier, healthier, and fuller life, getting the right amounts of absorbable nutrients is essential.

So how can you get the nutrients you need and overcome many of these symptoms? Well you can start by improving your diet, and working at eating a more balanced diet full of fresh fruits and vegetables which are great sources of vitamins and minerals. However, many times we just do not eat enough of the nutrient rich foods, either we feel we do not have time to prepare them, or they are not as convenient. A great solution to this is to try a nutrient supplement beverage like Zija, which is packed full of very bioavailable nutrients and comes in an easy convenient can.
