Diets are only for women? It may seem that way since all the major weight loss programs in the media seem to be geared towards them. On the contrary, more and more men have also been "watching their figures". They do not like to use the word diet because it implies something feminine. The fact that having a spare tire around your waste or a beer belly is not very appealing would not be the only reasons why they are more health conscious now than ever. Being overweight is now becoming a precursor for diabetes and heart disease.
Females are not the only ones who obsess about their looks, men tend to work out a lot, turn to steroids and diet at the same time. They want to feel stronger and more masculine as opposed to slim. They worry that by dieting alone they will lose muscle mass as well as unwanted fat. Many men travel for business and find it difficult to incorporate healthy well balanced meals into their hectic schedules on the road. It is often more expensive and more inconvenient to eat healthier on the run when the dollar menu is a no brainer. They often have to adhere to company expense accounts containing strict budgets a certain amount each day and they do not want to go over that because it will come out of their wallets. Try bringing a few packages of oatmeal on the plane and they will provide the hot water.
You could also try to book your hotel rooms a few floors up from ground level and take the stairs up, after your luggage is taken up, of course! Men have a habit of foregoing breakfast at home which will only make them stuff themselves during lunch, resulting in more weight gain. Take the time to have something substantial like peanut butter on wheat toast by mid morning to ward off those hunger pains. Men tend to see weight loss results with portion control, also.
