Wake up and smell the sunshine, swimwear season sitting at your doorstep! It is time to grab your bag and hit the stores in pursuit of the best swimsuit for your figure. With the wide array of choices out there, it is hard to settle on just one or two suits to take you through the summer. Since it is going to be your best friend for the next several months, you had better make it a good one; otherwise you will spend your summer wishing you did.

First and foremost, you must decide what type of figure you have. There are generally six categories that each woman's figure will fall in to: pear shaped, apple shaped, pregnant, plus-sized, small busted and boyish figures. Once you decide the type of body you have, you then must find the swimsuit that will hit and fit all the right places. You know what we mean, the ones that will showcase the goodies and hide the no-so-goodies.

The woman with a pear shaped figure is smaller on the top and wider at the bottom. With this in mind, women with this body type should draw focus to the upper body by choosing a bikini that has a top that will draw attention. A skirted bikini bottom is good for this figure type as well; these camouflage the hips and buttocks and are very hot this coming swimsuit season. Be sure that the swimsuit bottom that you choose sits well on your hips.

The apple shaped woman is the opposite of the pear shaped woman; she has a bigger top and narrower hips. Halter topped bikinis are great for this figure type as they flatter your cleavage line without showing too much. Be sure to look for a swimsuit or bikini with under wire or padding to support your bust line. One piece, cut out swimsuits are great for this figure type as well and are super hot this swimsuit season.

Those soon to be mommies need something to show off their ever-growing belly. Tankinis are great for the expectant mom as these will show off her cute little bun without exposing too much. Also, halter topped swimsuits a great to accentuate what Mother Nature has blessed you with overnight.

Plus sized women are generally curvy all over. One piece swimsuits are great for this figure type. Look for darker shades which tend to slim. Also important to look for is a bodice that either rouching or some sort of support. When not in the pool, try using a sarong to wrap around your waist in order to accentuate your waistline. If you choose a printed swimsuit, be sure to choose one with a smaller print as larger prints draw attention to problem areas.

Women with smaller busts generally do not want to draw attention to their upper bodies, so they should choose a bikini with a simple top and a more striking bottom. One to try, in order to add some volume to the bust, is a bikini with a ruffled top; these are great because they add fullness where it is needed most. If you have a longer torso, try a cut out swimsuit as these look great with long lean figures. Do not overlook halter topped bikinis and one piece swimsuits, these can create cleavage where you never knew you had it.

Finally, the woman with a boyish figure usually does not have very many curves at all; she has more of an athletic build with toned limbs. Show off your assets with a halter top that will display your toned shoulders and arms. Also good is a bikini with girly effects such as a floral print, polka dots or even a bowtie in order to play down your figure's tendency to look less feminine. Also great for this lean body type is the one piece cut out swimsuit; look for one with a plunging neckline in order to draw attention to the space between the cups rather than the smaller cleavage. These swimsuits will accentuate parts of your torso as well as your arms, legs and back.

No matter what your body type, we assure you, there is a swimsuit out there that will fit your summer needs perfectly.
