It has a well lit display screen and a very elegant touchscreen. Right underneath the display are the shortcut keys for bringing out the menu, going back, zoom, answering a call and ending a call. The central area is dominated by a circular navigation pad. The phone has a quadband support on its 2G network with bands of GSM 850/900/1800/1900 being supported. This ensures you can carry your handset to another continent without losing network signal as you would not be in your home network. It helps in nullifying the need of a temporary mobile phone or lending another handset. 3G network can be attained by connecting to the bands of HSDPA 900/2100. The device has dimensions of one hundred six millimeters (length) by fifty five millimeters (width) by fourteen millimeters (depth). It has a body weight of an extremely light one hundred thirteen grams. This ensures you have a comfortable time when having the phone in your pocket or in your hand.

The display screen is a TFT resistive touchscreen and measures 2.8 inches in size. The size of the display may be considered comparatively small to its compatriots in the same section but this also reduces the bulk in weight and in itself the size is justified for viewing images, watching movies/videos etc. It has a resolution of two hundred forty pixels by three hundred twenty pixels. It also has an accelerometer sense for auto rotate which changes the display orientation when the phone is held differently than its usual original position.

HTC Tattoo operates on Google developed operating system called Android v1.5 cupcake. It has a processor speed of 528MHz for quick loading of files, applications, images, videos, games etc. One can communicate with his/her contacts not just via phone calls but also via text messages, multimedia messages, Emails and instant messages. The received text messages can be viewed in an easy and compact threaded view. Phone also comes with A-GPS support through which you can know your precise location and get directions to a certain destination too. Other miscellaneous features include digital compass, dedicated search key, scenes quick profile switcher, voice memory and T9 dictionary.
