Many teenagers are all too aware of what Acne is, just incase you have forgotten, or just blocked the whole experience out of your memory, acne is an inflamed skin condition. It is so damaging for the lives of teenagers because it appears as hundreds of spots on their face, and also on upper body parts. This condition does not only affect teenagers however.

People think that the excess secretion of oils by the skin glands causes acne, which is actually an inflammation of the sebaceous glands and the follicles of the hair. Though almost everyone experiences some form of acne during some time of their life, acne varies in form, appearance and severity from person to person.

As we have already mentioned acne is caused by the excess secretion of oil. The hormone androgen is responsible for the amount of oil secreted by our body tissues, therefore the underlying reason for acne could be an excess of androgen. Acne is categorized into different types, Juvenile Acne, Acne Vulgarias, Chronic Acne, Pickers Acne, Cosmetic and fringe Acne, Body Acne and Back Acne.

Acne is not particularly threatening, it is just a skin disorder that normally clears up all by itself. Therefore it does not usually require any costly medical treatments. Most outbreaks of mild acne can be treated successfully by applying some remedies in the comfort of your own home:

First you need a good Acne Cleanser, Milk of Magnesia is one such product that is available on the market. This is one of the best known cleansers that helps clear up excess oil, hopefully resolving your acne problem. The solution should be applied to the affected area, and left for around 10 minutes, then it should be rinsed off with warm water. This procedure removes any excess oil from your skin and also unclogs the pores of your skin, normally relieving most forms of mild acne.

Then you should look at removing blackheads, blackheads and acne go hand in hand with one another. Removal of these black heads is a necessary step in the treatment of Acne and for this applying a product like Epsom salt could be considered. A teaspoon of Epsom salt is dissolved in some warm water, this makes a solution which should be amply applied to the affected areas using cotton wool. These solutions help in the easy removal of blackheads.

Lastly you should look at preventing any infections. Acne becomes inflamed, and very sensitive to the touch. It is very important to consider the inflammation, sensitivity and tenderness of the affected areas when treating acne at home. For this add 2 to 3 drops of Tr. of Benzion in a cup of cold water, this solution should then be applied to the affected area and rinsed off with cold water. This is a well known antibacterial solution and so this effectively prevents and cures any minor infections in the affected areas.

If your form of acne is serious then it is best to go to visit your doctor to get it sorted out. If you ever experience any discomfort when using any of these home remedies then it is important to stop using them and consult your doctor.
