When you have a car you need to do what you can to make sure that you take care of it properly. This means that you should give it the regular oil changes and even take it in for a tune up when that annoying check engine light comes on. Although we usually take the car in when it has a problem the one thing we are able to fix is a flat tire.

In order to do this you must learn the proper way to remove tires from the car so that the car and the tire is not damaged in anyway. With the proper tools and the right instructions this process can be quick and easy.

Before you can change the tire you will have to remove the hub cap. This should come off easily from the tire and without using any special tools. Once this is done you will need to remove the lug nuts using the right tool that usually comes with the car. These can be hard to remove any may require the use of penetrating oil to loosen them.

These need to be removed in a triangular pattern opposite from each other. Most people will loosen the first three and then will loosen the ones across from the axle. However, you must not remove them completely.

Next you will need to jack it up in the proper grooves that are on the car. These grooves are necessary for the jack and if they are not used they could seriously damage the car. Once it is up securely you will be able to remove the lug nuts with your hand instead and remove the tire. You will then be able to put the new tire on and refasten the lug nuts in the right order.
