Front Sight Firearms Training Facility is the internationally acclaimed training institute near Las Vegas, Nevada. At the wheel of Front Sight is its founder and director, Dr. Ignatius Piazza, a former chiropractor. Dr. Piazza established Front Sight a little over eleven years ago and has since then made it into a massive resort, training more students every year than all the other shooting schools in the U.S. combined. Dr. Piazza's mission to train and educate America on the safe, effective, responsible use of firearms came about in 1988. His life and home were threatened by a drive-by shooting, and in this moment he realized that although he had spent several years firing guns and being an all-around gun enthusiast, he had no actual training on how to use a firearm to protect his life, or the lives of his loved ones.

This started Dr. Piazza on a mission to train himself fully on how to become a master of the use of firearms. Through his training regimen, he came across a nigh-unheard of classification: Four Weapons Combat Master. Published in 1981, it is a test which before 1993 only one man had ever successfully passed. Dr. Piazza worked for months, getting training from men who were, at the time, the world's experts on firearm use.

Dr. Piazza, despite being a certified expert in Special Pistol, Shotgun, Carbine and Rifle courses, needed to put in hundreds of additional hours to achieve the skill needed to pass the Four Weapons Combat Master test. Even then, he failed the test several times, but finally in August of 1993, became the second man in the world to secure the certificate.

Dr. Piazza's extensive training, spanning over several years and several thousand hours of tutelage, granted him the understanding of what an ideal training routine would be. Thus, he formed Front Sight, pouring all of his knowledge, understanding and trainability into its format and course layout.

The end product of Front Sight is not necessarily someone who can pass the Four Weapons Combat Master test, though one could train that far if they so desired. The intent of Front Sight and Dr. Piazza is to train Americans in what truly is an art form: firearms. Front Sight and Dr. Piazza are trying to honor what the Founding Fathers clearly intended for America: a responsible, capable, trained militia as laid out in the Second Amendment. The right to bear arms and train in their responsible, effective use is clearly protected in America, and Dr. Piazza desires that for all Americans.

Dr. Piazza, as an accredited doctor of chiropractic, and a Four Weapons Combat Master, is no stranger to education. Much of his life has been devoted to education or training of some kind, so he is an excellent source of what is ideal and needed in a course of education.
