Experiencing the Las Vegas Nightlife

Vegas, it's a city that truly never sleeps. Sure, there's fun to be had during the day, but when the sun goes down, the action heats up.

Vegas is known for opening new clubs and party centers all the time. Because the competition is extremely tight, you and I win. No matter what type of venue you're in the mood for, Las Vegas has it.

There's the "come as you are" clubs and for the more refined individual, there's the "VIP" clubs-the best dress is mandatory. It's extremely common to see Hollywood stars at Vegas clubs too. For instance, one night Jessica Simpson and Ken Paves hit the Moon Nightclub at the Palms. It's a star party in Vegas.

The Palms is becoming world famous as the party center in Las Vegas. Their club, The Rain, is definitely one of the best in the city. There are great special effects and the music is a combo of old-school hip-hop, rock, dance, and house. Don't try to go during the week, because it's only open on Friday and Saturday. There's a cover charge as well.

Another good club in town is Pure at Caesars Palace. It also has a VIP lounge. At 36,000-square-feet, Pure is a big club with lots of action. As with the clubs at The Palms, you can expect to spot hot celebs at Pure at any given moment. You can also head out the Terrace, which is a section of Pure that's outdoors. The views are spectacular.

You know what another great nightclub is? The LAX at the Luxor is a fun club if you're into something different. It's a decent sized nightclub too-about 26,000-square-feet. The theme of the LAX is Goth. The nightclub is two stories also, so there are plenty of areas to work your stuff. The sound system in this gothic nightclub is excellent. As with any other decent Las Vegas nightclub, the dress code is strictly enforced.

Let's talk about that for a second. I'd highly recommend that you call whatever Las Vegas nightclubs you're interested in before just showing up. The dress code rules vary wildly. What works at one club, won't work at another. Show up in a suit at some clubs and you're likely to be turned away. However, show up in business-casual dress at another and you'll get the same result. Preparation is the key.

While I've talked about some of the upper-level nightclubs in Vegas, the city has tons of "average Joe" nightclubs. Show up in nice attire (nothing too fancy) and you're all set. Most places have a cover charge and the "ladies are free" stuff only works at certain clubs. Your upper-level clubs are very picky and packed. It's your usual club experience.

If you want a nightclub or nightlife experience off the Las Vegas Strip, check out the Red Rock Hotel & Casino in Summerlin. It's about a 15-minute drive from the Strip and has some good action-like Cherry, their nightclub.

Next time you're in Las Vegas, hit up one of these clubs.
