A Beach With Everything... Las Salinas, Ibiza

Las Salines is one of the most popular and well known beaches on Ibiza. Resting at the southern most point of the Isle, Salines (as it is commonly known) is accessible by car, motorbike/scooter, by buses that run regularly in the warmer months (taking no more then an hour from Ibiza Town) and is a good ride on a bike as the road is bicycle friendly.

Head down the road to the airport, pass through San Jordi, take the side road off to the left, which heads in the direction of the Canal, pass DC10 and if you follow the signs, keeping the salt pans on your right, you'll get there easily enough. Salines is a long open beach encircled with vegetation typical of the Isle and is covered with deliciously fine, white sand - always a bonus for those that are not overly fond of turning up to a beach to find pebbles or rocks to rest on. Perfect for swimming and snorkeling, the sea bottom is mostly sand, with some areas towards the eastern end being a little rocky, although not large or dangerous rocks by any means, you can easily spot these places if you prefer to wade into the water elsewhere.

There are various inlets, little natural swimming pools and a ¨boardwalk¨ in front of the restaurant Sa Trinxa for those who are fond of a little bikini parade or simply to venture out a little further in the sea. There are several restaurants lining the beach and all are packed during summer, providing water side service to those who have paid to use the countless deckchairs and umbrellas. Nothing betters sipping on a cocktail or an icy cold beer on a hot summer's day, without having to move even one cheek! Restaurants, including the Jockey Club (which is open all year) and Sa Trinxa (with it's small clothing store), always have the latest grooves being played by Dj´s keeping the music aspect of Ibiza alive at the beach - and when the sun starts to go down, the party just continues. The views from the sand take in the stunning island of Formentera and the crystal clear water is always dotted with incredible sailing boats, yachts and motor boats, teasing those who don't own one, nor know somebody that does. It is a glamour beach as much as it is a family beach and, like anywhere in Ibiza, you can feel free to wear as much or as little material to cover your body as you like; however there is definitely a lot more skin on display than bikinis and board shorts.

Salines is 1.5 kilometres of fun in the sun. Not only to be enjoyed during summer, Salines is lovely to visit in winter, if not more so as it is super quiet, peaceful and you don't trip over any feet when strolling along the soft white sand.

This is one of the best places you could be this summer and it could be possible by renting a stunning villa overlooking the salt flats and the sea or a villa situated right on the beach, visit bond property to view a selection of stunning properties in Salinas and all over the island.
