"The most important question you will ever answer is: Do I live in a friendly universe or a hostile universe? " Paraphrased from Albert Einstein

I have lived long enough and most of you have too, to have heard of and experienced many tragedies both personal, local & global. At these times a wave of disbelief, sadness and thoughts of "How can this happen?" sweep through us.

It's important to feel your feelings because these feelings are the heart of deep compassion.

We send our prayers, thoughts and good will toward families and communities who have experienced such a tremendous loss.

Many people ask, "Why?" When I look at the DSMIV (Psychological Diagnostic Manual of Mental Disorders) there are only two diagnosis, that I can see, that on rare occasions have homicide as one of the outcomes. First is schizophrenia where a person hears voices & sees demons that torment them to hurt others. The second is anti-social personality disorder or your movie portrayed psychopath. These people have no conscience, show no remorse and have no empathy for others. This is a disorder that is created by extreme parenting patterns.

From what I can see in these kinds of tragedies these young people do NOT have either mental illness.

So, it's a choice. Period. These acts are fueled by obsessive thoughts of hate, anger and revenge. These thoughts lead to a "soup" of biochemicals in the brain and body.

There are EASY ways to stop the trigger thoughts. Energy Psychology is one of the simplest, most direct ways to stop these obsessive thoughts. Processes like EFT and EMDR can stop these thoughts in as few as 1-5 sessions. Obsessive compulsive disorders have one of the highest CURE rates. Traditional OCD therapy can CURE the patient in about 25 sessions.

So, again I go back to choice. The disenfranchised person (and haven't most people felt disenfranchised at some time) can choose to take positive action both to stop compulsive thinking and to use their energy to advocate for others.

As we look at these losses we have to answer again and again, "Do I live in a friendly or hostile universe?"

My belief is this is a friendly, compassionate, caring, loving and breathtakingly beautiful life. The Dalai Lama stated that acts of kindness and compassion are so commonplace as to be completely un-newsworthy! As we hold compassion for those who are grieving and suffering, let us remain hope-filled. Focus on the world you want to see. Remember the beauty, wisdom, peace and love in this world. Let light dismiss darkness.

Blessings,

Iris Fanning
