As a parent, you want to through the most special birthday party for your child, considering how eager she/he is at the prospect of their party. After all, it's only once a year and you want to make sure it's memorable not only for your child but also for other guests.

With all the pressure, you're likely to feel a little anxious about throwing the party, but don't let it pull you down. After all, its kid stuff, right? With just a little creative thinking and work, your kid's party can easily be enjoyable even for you, and you won't need the services of a professional event planner.

Unless it's a surprise you're planning, you'll do well to consult the birthday boy or girl in getting it together, whether it is ideas for a theme, food, presents, games, etc. After all, it's their special day and there's no point driving yourself crazy over a party they aren't going to enjoy! To create the right ambience for a cowboy party, you could bring out the classic tunes and even try some square dancing steps. When it comes to costumes, all you need are some handy props such as cowboy boots, jackets, hats, checked shirts, toy-guns and lassos. Have fun while planning the party and don't worry about little details; remember it's all about make believe!

And Finally, the Cake!

The one thing birthdays can't do without is a delicious birthday cake, so make sure you prepare in advance. If you don't trust your baking skills or simply don't have the time, look for bakeries that specialize in birthday orders. Your cake too can reflect the theme, think cowboy-hat or ranch shaped cakes. Remember to order a flavor the birthday boy or girl prefers.
