My For Sale Sign: One Step at a Time
During the first full week on the market, there were no showings but we had a successful Open House. During the Open House we naturally attracted several neighbors and learned some interesting facts about the property and how it compares to other units and how unique The Grove is in Yuba City. These comments ranged from the great location unit 20 has inside the community, to the advantages of having an "end unit" and what a wonderful job Randi and Tony have done in upgrading the kitchen. One neighbor seemed particularly interested in the fact that this unit has a downstairs bedroom. He has an elderly parent living with him who is beginning to have difficulty getting upstairs to his bedroom. Another visitor we had was a very nice Yuba City couple who is looking to sell their existing home and move to The Grove. They explained that, last year, they had tried to buy a unit but had to back out when the sale on their home fell through. Turns out you can see the unit they were making an offer from ours (we have a better location with no traffic noise). They are very interested but after their last experience want to have their house sold before making any offers. They are in the process of selling it now so, hopefully we will hear more from them in the next week or so.
Randi and Tony seemed pleased with the open house but are clearly disappointed they have not had any showings by Realtors since we have come on the market. This week we are going to develop a multi-media slide show presentation for the property, add the listing to Zillow and get some fresh photos up on the Sutter-Yuba MLS.
This is the second in a series of articles as part of a new feature on my website, My For Sale Sign, where we will follow a transaction from beginning to end. I hope it will be entertaining as well as educational. The first article in this series was "The Journey Begins" and can be seen here.
If you have comments about the article, series or even ideas to help Randi and Tony realize their dream of moving to a larger home, please feel free to email me
