There are many fascinating, interesting and beautiful areas of England which are most certainly worth a visit when people travel to the country. From the famous and historic capital London, to the more relaxed and peaceful coastal town of Torquay, there is something for everyone to enjoy. People who live in England are known to enjoy travelling around the country for short weekend breaks and in this article I will be writing about some of the most popular places that they visit.

Shakespeare country better known as Stratford-upon-Avon is a very attractive place to spend a couple of nights. Famed by the great William Shakespeare who was born here, Stratford has a lovely shopping area and you can not beat eating a picnic by the canal. There are some quite brilliant public houses which serve top notch food, The Red Lion being my favourite.

York offers something altogether different, from ghost walks to horse racing, with some top class restuarants, York has to be in the top five weekend breaks in England.

Lets not forget London. I am sure I do not have to mention all of its many landmarks, basically London has a lot to offer. I will spend at least one weekend of every year visiting London, enough said/wrote!

There are many other areas of England to visit, I personally love spending time in Devon, once every few years I will have a weekend in Bath and I am also a lover of all things to do with castles. My favourite castle has to be Warwick Castle, I therefore will travel to Warwick for a short break every couple of years.
