Acupuncture, Electroacupuncture, Acupressure or micro-current stimulaton...

What's the difference and does it REALLY matter?

Well, the difference may surprise you; but once understook, you may well be on the road to faster relief.

Simply stated, electroacupuncture, also known as micro-current stimulation, is a faster, easier, cheaper, safer and do-it-yourself way to experience all of the benefits of acupuncture, without the needles.

Just how did this leap from acupuncture with needles to electroacupuncture (herein also understood to mean micro-current stimulation) without needles come about?

Back in the late 1960's Dr. Julian Kenyon, a UK surgeon and Master Acupuncturist, had a vision of putting the healing power of acupuncture into the hands of the lay person.

After twelve years of research, the result was the first micro current device or Energy Point Stimulator (also known as EPS) of its kind.

The device allowed the user to locate acupuncture points with 100% accuracy and then stimulate that point with a very minute electronic pulse. It turns out, the intentional and extremely low energy output of the device is very important.

In his research, Dr. Kenyon found that bi-polar micro currents, in the range of less than 50 micro-amps, having a square waveform and frequency of 10 hertz, When coupled with traditional acupuncture protocols, could trigger the body's natural healing system and promote tissue regeneration. Not only were these results remarkable, they were repeatable.

Thus, Dr. Kenyon had successfully "joined" micro current stimulation with acupuncture, allowing anyone the opportunity to use acupuncture on themselves and enjoy the benefits of acupuncture, only without the use of needles and without invading the skin in any way.

Continued research and refinement, together with nutritional support has resulted in remarkable breakthroughs in dealing with very tough health issues, which will be the subject of future articles. Additional information can be obtained at www.acupuncture.info-unltd.com/blog
