If you are someone who is endeavoring to enhance your grades, there are a list of methods that will help you to boost your facility to sharpen your attention, memorize the materials that you study, and remember it during an examination without being subjected to mental blocks or a test phobia. Here are the best ways that I know to establish good study habits:

(1) Create a place for reading and study only in that place! Establish a silent room that will be conducive to a focusing of attention without distractions. Some possible examples would be a library, a vacant classroom, or your home office. You will want to establish the custom of studying when you are in this place. So it is best to not use your special place for other activities like daydreaming, conversations, or eating, etc.

BE SURE YOUR SPECIAL PLACE HAS:

(a) A comfortable chair, but not too comfy

(b) A writing desk or table

(c) First class lighting

(d) Ventilation

BE SURE YOUR SPECIAL PLACE DOES NOT HAVE:

(a) Distractions

(b) A phone

(c) Music that will be distracting to you

(d) A big screen television set

(e) Another person who talks all the time

(f) A refrigerator filled with distractions

(2) Split your homework into small, short-range components.

(a) Set up small specific projects like, "I'm going to study my chemistry from 1 PM to 2 PM. Or else you will set yourself up to fall short.

(b) Set a reachable homework goal for the amount of time you have allocated. For example: finish reading chapter ten in my English book, or complete a final version of my chemistry paper, etc. Set your goals when you you are ready to study but before you actually begin studying. Set reasonable goals. You might possibly do more than reach your goal, but set a reachable goal even if it seems far too easy.

(3) Test Anxiety & Phobias

(a) Some people experience physical symptoms for the most part, like feeling hot or cold, nausea, or faintness, etc.

(b) Other people experience mostly emotional symptoms, like feeling frustrated, irritable, or crying easily.

(c) The main difficulty with anxiety is that it can cause you to have a memory block. Or it could trigger thoughts that are racing out of control.

(d) Although you may feel some level of anxiety when taking examinations, you can learn to diminish that anxiety, or even completely eliminate it!

(e) Anxiousness and the resultant stress are more often than not the main causes of a lack of the ability to focus your concentration. Stress can also be the cause of a mental block when one tries to recall information.

(f) Hypnosis CD's can be utilized to relax your mind and focus your concentration. As your mind calms down, your ability to stay focused will increase. Similarly, a calm mind enhances your ability to retain information, and recall it when it is needed.

(g) NLP CD's can also be utilized to program your mind for the positive expectation of tranquility and the ability to bring back to mind the information during an examination. Relaxation is effective at reducing or eliminating test anxiety. (h) There are a number of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) techniques that can rapidly get rid of a test phobia!
