A42MX09-PQ100I Actel FPGA in MX Family

A42MX09-PQ100I is another of Actel's FPGA's belonging to the MX family. A42MX09-PQ100I is an industrial FPGA with a temperature range of -40 to +85°C. It has the following specifications; System Gates - 14,000, Logic Modules; Sequential- 348, Combinatorial - 336, Clock-to-Out - 5.6 ns, Dedicated Flip-Flops - 348, Maximum Flip-Flops - 516, Clocks - 2, and User I/O (maximum) - 104. It has a Plastic Quad Flat Pack package type and a Package lead count of 100.

At 5V A42MX09-PQ100I are economical and are excellent single-chip solutions that offer enhanced performance while shortening the system design and development cycle. The A42MX09-PQ100I can integrate and consolidate logic implemented in multiple PALs, CPLDs, and FPGAs. It is a reliable single-chip ASIC alternative. The device is designed in such a way as to ensure 100% resource utilization, 100% pin locking, and PCI-Compliant I/O at both 5.0V and 3.3V.


A42MX09-PQ100I is made of logic modules, I/O modules, routing resources and clock networks, necessary for fast logic designs. The device has 2 types of logic modules; combinatorial (C-modules), sequential (S-modules). The sequential element can be configured as a D-flip-flop. It has two clock distribution networks and each network has a clock module that can select the source of the clock signal.


A42MX09-PQ100I supports mixed voltage operations due to MultiPlex I/O, an advanced architectural feature. It is a very useful device as it enables solutions to be reached without undue delays, high costs or extra effort. Another feature in its favor is its low power consumption. It has user controllable timing and is a low cost device with excellent features.
