Looking slick while riding on a two-seater convertible while cruising along Sunset Boulevard could really make heads turn. But what more if you are revving up with a sporty yet luxurious looking roofless ride such as the Mercedes Benz 450E? Surely, others would drool over that picture. And almost nothing could top that kind of lavishness. Because you got with you on the steering wheel of a Mercedes Benz 450SL what it takes to stand-out.

The bold look says it is built for the driven. With the foot flooring the gas pedal, you could feel the animal of a performance waiting to be unleashed. And with the grill boasting of that patented large Mercedes Benz emblem, passers-by will surely venerate the car with high regard as the roadster is equipped with nothing but genuine, high-quality Mercedes Benz 450SL parts and accessories. Utter passion for excellence, so to speak.

The Mercedes Benz 450SL belongs to the SL-Class of Mercedes Benz line, with the abbreviation "SL" meant as "sport light," or in German, "sport leicht." Cars of the open SL-Class were available as a coupe with a removable hardtop or as a roadster with convertible soft top or with both tops. This series of luxury vehicles had its maiden appearance on the 1954 300SL 'Gullwing' so named because of its upward-opening passenger doors. Together with the SLC-Class, the SL-Class is roofed under the R107 series of the Mercedes Benz. This refers to the name of the series of the Mercedes Benz cars released from 1972 to 1989. The R107 adopted the chassis components of the mid-sized Mercedes Benz W114 model. With the "R" in R107 being "reihe," or series, it took on the 107 chassis model. This includes other models like the 350 SL, 380 SL and the 560 SL. The Mercedes Benz 450 SL had its heyday of production until 1980. Its front and rear bumpers extended to 8 inches to comply with the United States safety regulations.

The 107 chassis had the longest run of any Mercedes chassis, which spanned 18 years from 1971 to 1989. Some 237,000 107 chassis SL's were built around that time. About two thirds were sold in the United States. These 107 cars are larger, heavier and more costly than the previous generation W113 cars.

An elongated version of the Mercedes Benz 450SL (or R107) is the Mercedes Benz C107, or most commonly known as the SLC. It also utilizes the W114 chassis model with a larger engine and styling very much like the Mercedes Benz 450SL counterpart. There were 7,000 units sold with the United States having the major share of the pie.

A major factor to the success of this roadster model is its high-quality Mercedes Benz 450SL parts and accessories. They serve as building blocks to make the overall performance of the Mercedes Benz 450SL sleek as silk. Some Mercedes Benz 450SL parts that brings forth comfort and leisure include power steering, power windows, power door locks, leather interior, cassette player, AM/FM Stereo, hard top, convertible seats, automatic transmission, among others.

These Mercedes Benz 450SL parts and accessories are not run-of-the-mill type of components. They are skillfully crafted and scientifically engineered to give nothing but the best customer satisfaction it can provide. Excellence is what they are after. And excellence, it is, that they are making.
