The goal of Winjitsu is to give you some freedom. It is the most valued level of success and the hardest non-tangible thing to achieve. How much time in your life do you actually own?

Can you be honest with yourself and really come to terms with how much control you have over your life? How much of your daily, weekly or yearly time do you truly own? Do you feel like you have enough time in your current life to make the most of yourself?

Getting a Black Belt in what you do requires one to have the control and time to focus on your own individual success. Without this time, you will constantly be sidetracked or forced to procrastinate. You can figure out what your level of freedom is by determining how much control you have over the following five areas:

- Why

- Who

- What

- When

- Where

Do you do what you want, where you want, when you want, why you want, and with whom you want?

Imagine your life as a movie and you are the writer, director, actor, and producer. You are in complete control of everything you do. To make this movie a big hit and a great experience for you to enjoy, you need to ask some very important questions to be able to define your purpose and passion.

Why do you want to do something?

Simply put, are you doing something because of your own desire to act or out of fear? Do you want to make this particular movie or would you prefer to produce something else? Would you quit your job if you won the lottery? Would you change your lifestyle if you didn't have to work? Naturally there are going to be some strings (usually responsibilities) in life that we cannot control or that seem to have a tight hold on our levels of freedom. But let's focus on the positive choices we do have in our life.

Who do you want to spend time with?

If your movie is going to bring about the feelings you desire, you need to surround yourself with like-minded people. Who are your co-actors in this film of life? Do they support you or drain you of your energy? Do they help you to grow? We very often become our surroundings, so it is important to have people in our lives who are focused on the values and beliefs that we share and/or want to attain.

What do you want to be doing?

Is this movie going to be science fiction, action, comedy, adventure, romance, or drama? What will your film contain? Doing what you want in life is truly equal to the ability to live the life you want. But living life on purpose will help you to achieve a level of personal balance that you might never have thought possible. Do what you love to do and success will follow.
