Whenever there is talk of anything having to do with online marketing or link building, it seems that all the advisers tell you what Google wants. This is only natural as Google is one of the biggest names when it comes to anything on the web, but they are not the only search engine and not the only entity that matters on the web.

Getting your rank to go higher is the main concern for most anyone that has an online business. When you get your rank up higher it will give your business much more exposure. Getting on Google's page one is not the only way to get new business. You can get plenty of traffic from other search engines.

Bing is a good one to shoot for a ranking from, because it is no where near the size of Google, is currently gaining popularity over Yahoo and is a good solid search engine backed by a good solid company. If you are working on link building for your website than you will definitely want to look at what to do and not to do according to Bing's rules.

If you do certain things that obviously raise your rank very quickly on Bing, it can cause a red flag type of notice. One thing is using hidden links. If people cannot see them on the page then Bing does not want them there. Usually what gets noticed is page rank changing too fast. If you put a whole lot of inbound links on a page that is currently in use, Bing will focus on that and flag it too.

Links to unreliable sources. Too many links to unrelated and irrelevant content or those linked to blog comments are not viable content and will not help improve your ranking on Bing. Links to spam sites is not prohibited. It is not only an issue for Bing, but can also become a liability issue for your business. Receiving links from paid link or link exchanges is something that is not supported by Bing or any of the major search engines on the web. It is not considered neighborly to link in this way.

You need some quality text links to build up your rank with major search engines. You can easily buy text links and get more exposure and traffic to your business.
