Hamlet: Jesus Or Pilate?

This statement was very controversial even to the Jews. It mutated the basic Ten Commandments and laws written in Exodus, in which Jews have lived under all of their existence. Just as Hamlet had lived in the royalty of his father's kingship for many years, a great shift in power was frightening. The ghost's commandment was "devilish" in nature, but he believes that the people of the renaissance believed in the maintenance of dignity over the Bible teachings. If the ghost and Hamlet were to do nothing, they would have no honor. Still, I disagree, due to the fact that no other alternative course of action was taken, except vengeful murder. There was no investigation of the death of King Hamlet to give reason as to explain King Hamlet's death. Such an investigation may have given evidence that would expose Claudius as the killer. Despite this possibility, Hamlet simply assumed that the ghost was his father to justify his retribution. In this way, Hamlet has become a Pilate figure. A man of aristocracy bent to defend the status quo of his home by crucifying Christ. What he will have to realize is that the status quo has already been altered and that defending this dying cause will only bring him misery. Shakespeare made Hamlet into a Pilate figure, not because he wished to tell the story of Christ, but to tell a story of change. The Bible was a tool used in order to tell such a story, since it is the most well known story of change. Shakespeare's Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, proves to be a play of the hardships of change. Hamlet's revenge leaves his mother dead, his once lover, Ophelia, dead, as well as Rosencrantz, Guildenstern, Polonius, and Laertes. All of this bloodshed happened under the influence of a demon Hamlet worshiped as a false idol. In the end, Hamlet brought about his own destruction by failing to embrace his changing world.
