Motorcycle boots can easily be worn out because of the moisture and dryness it experiences with frequent riding activities. Even if you purchase the most reliable and expensive motorcycle boots in the market such as Double H boots, your boots can never last long unless you properly take care of it. Check out the following tips so that your boots will remain sleek and handsome for many years to come.

- Prevention has always been the cure. It is important that you take care of your boots the moment you purchase it. Remember to place it in a dry environment and never use harsh household chemicals that can potentially break its components.

- Leather is vulnerable to water and other forms of liquid. You should observe any sign of contact with liquids and must be able to treat the boots immediately to prevent permanent stains. Keep in mind that leather needs to breathe so use products that will not clog its pores.

- In the cases that your boots come in contact with a gum, you can heat it with a dryer until it is completely dry. Then carefully remove this with the use of a soft dry cloth. If you see some visible marks left, apply conditioner.

- Spills can occur frequently. When this circumstance happens, you should wipe out immediately the liquid with a clean cloth. If needed, use lukewarm water and allow it to air dry. In the case of spot and stains, non-detergent soaps are recommended. Apply this product with a wet sponge and let it air dry. For butter or oil, just wipe the oil off the boots with a clean cloth and just wait for it to disappear into the leather. Never use water to wash it off.

- If you are using mink oil, be very cautious because it can darken your boots.

- It is recommended that you follow the manufacturer's guidelines in cleaning the boots. Always begin cleaning by testing any cleaner in one part before covering the whole area.

- Never use waxes or other formulas that can impair the ability of the leather to breathe easily.

- When you are using commercial cleaners, you should clean your pair of boots at the same time. Because it is natural to have a small color change after cleaning, this will not be a problem if you are cleaning the pair together.

- If your boots gets wet, just hang it on a padded hanger and allow it to air dry. You can also apply a little amount of conditioner when it is nearly dry.

Untreated leather is easily stained by oils and other spills. Even wrong cleaners and organic solvent can harm it. It is therefore important that you select the proper cleaning items before applying it on leather. Remember that soap and water can be a good routine for cleaning leather but if you have a budget for commercial cleaners, then it is a wise idea to buy one.

In general, it should be a lesson to you that if you take care of your leather boots and apparel such as Double H boots more appropriately, the more resistant it will be to spills and stains which will make it last for longer years.
