Since the Spanish language is being spoken in 43 countries, not including Spain, this shows how widely popular the Spanish language is. Foreign language courses are already being offered at different colleges and universities. Spanish training is always included in them. Students taking up such courses are continuously increasing in number. New books and training materials are being published and sold.

For many, the school systems have not met the needs of the Spanish language students with respect to the academic educational standards expected by the proactive people. This has resulted in a growing movement of people taking the Spanish education into their own hands. Learning Spanish at home continues to grow and to expand as more and more people realize the many benefits and advantages of studying Spanish at home.

Studying Spanish at home offers many benefits and advantages over traditional educational methods and systems offered through our schools, colleges and universities.

Studying Spanish at home allows the person to select the exact lesson plan or curriculum he or she will learn from based on what he or she thinks is best for him or her, not the school system. It is often found that many schools teach students Spanish subjects that are academically irrelevant, not challenging, or that are really best left to the person to learn on his or her own. Studying Spanish at home offers a control mechanism over this and allows for a way to tailor the person's education to specific interests and desires while continuing to provide a challenge level that will keep the person growing in terms of his or her learning abilities.

Studying Spanish at home offers flexibility of the educational process. Some people excel at some things, but not at others. While studying Spanish at home, it would allow that person to excel where his or her strengths are while at the same time allowing that same person to spend a little more in the development of the weaker areas.

Some people are gifted and do well with all subject matter they are being taught. For them, studying Spanish at home allows for the education process to be more challenging since a more academically challenging curriculum can be adopted. Gifted people are able to pursue their interests and development path without the time constraints or curriculum limitations that are present in the traditional learning school environment.

There are many ways that studying Spanish at home can be accomplished today. Some people opt for a structured curriculum while others use available courses online or from textbooks, or audio/video programs on their computers. Some people combine these things with their own resources. Knowing this, it is evident that this education process is completely flexible, can be specifically tailored to the person's needs and can be changed on the fly as the person's educational needs change.

Studying Spanish at home offers other indirect advantages as well. One of these might be more available time. It can be an efficient way to learn. The time you have during the day can be used efficiently, thereby reducing the overall time that the person actually spends at school. This efficient use of time results in more time to be spent on additional activities either related or unrelated to the person's education.

Studying Spanish at home allows for the person to become the main mentor and source of guidance to himself or herself. As opposed to having a teacher at school mentoring a number of students at once and guiding them his or her own way, while studying Spanish at home the person will be in charge of his or her own outcome.

It is now known for a fact that some people who have studied Spanish at home do well when it comes to work preparation. In general, people who have studied Spanish at home have performed equal to or better than schooled students. In addition, it is a fact that people who have studied Spanish at home have an equal success factor for doing well as their schooled peers.

Studying Spanish at home is not for everyone. Each person should carefully evaluate whether studying Spanish at home will benefit their particular situation or not. There are many considerations to be made, but for many, studying Spanish at home has been a choice that has proven to be very beneficial to the person's exceptional education.
