Tips From a New Mom!

I am a mom of a beautiful 7 month old baby and much like everything is new to her, the reality of being a mom was all new to me.

I picked up every parenting magazine, watched shows on pregnancy, searched for articles about natural birth options etc… Many things I had never thought about until my husband and I decided to start a family.

What prompted me to share my experiences are the amazing results I have had with my baby's health and I had to share it with others in hopes that it will make a difference in your life and your baby's life. Some things are learned but a great deal is common sense.

You know the saying: "You are what you eat"? I am a firm believer and have since 1979 adopted a healthier eating habit and life style.

My baby has never had colic problems and I attribute that to the fact that I have avoided eating foods which are gas producing. That makes sense right? For Example: Eliminate broccoli, cabbage and beans from your diet. Eggs and dairy are mucus forming, and refined sugar will deplete your body of minerals and if fed to your children will make them very hyper.

She has never had a diaper rash and I am not sure all that may cause diaper rashes, but since I work from home, I make sure I do not leave her in soiled diapers for too long and I use Shea Butter on her bottom every time I change her.

Are you breastfeeding? Be sure to drink plenty of water, so your milk supply will be plenty! Did you know that by eating fresh Basil Leaves you can promote the production of breast milk?

I know some of us mothers cannot breastfeed, but if you can, this is the best food you can provide for your child. Breast milk provides all your baby needs in ways that we are yet to discover. If you use formula, all I can say to you is: "STAY AWAY FROM SOY"

What I eat and watching my diet are not what I do, but part of who I am. I know I have a great deal to learn as my baby develops, but so far I have not had problems with common issues babies experience.

I hope the little experiences I have shared with you will help. Here is a resource link with some eye opening info and it explains my comment about Soy.

If you are thinking about having your baby at home, you are on the right track! I had two midwives and did not want drugs circulating through baby's system. My labor lasted for 27 hours, and it was all worth it!

Remember, Mother Nature knows best!
