Seattle Real Estate
If you're in the market for a home in the American Northwest, you're likely aware that the area has a wide range of options that vary widely from one place to another. The northwestern region of the United States is a large, diverse area - and it offers everything from wide open spaces to truly metropolitan population centers. Seattle real estate in particular, then, offers buyers the opportunity to truly take advantage of the best of all possible worlds. Seattle real estate puts buyers within reach of a range of natural wonders - without leaving behind the benefits of city life.
One of the hallmarks of Seattle real estate is the burgeoning world-class health care scene. Leading the pack is the much-heralded University of Washington, which is ranked among the nation's top institutions year after year. This large, influential institution plays a leadership role in Washington's higher education community - but also takes top marks for its consistent contributions to the health of the city. Seattle real estate in many ways centers around this institution, which has led the way for the rest of the nation in a number of important medical fields and discoveries.
Seattle real estate is also well served by a network of other healthcare providers. Modern paramedic services, for example, got their start with Seattle's "Medic One" in 1970. This new service was so well planned and organized that the media quickly declared that Seattle was now the "best place in the world to have a hearth attack." Seattle real estate is also home to a number of world-class facilities. Harborview Medial Center, a public county hospital, is the key Level-1 trauma center for Washington and several surrounding states. Farther afield, Virginia Mason Medical Center and the Swedish Medical Center anchor a neighborhood of Seattle real estate known colloquially as "Pill Hill."
"Pill Hill" is not the only swath of Seattle real estate to have a medical facility as its center. Children's Hospital, for example, anchors the neighborhood of Laurelhurst, and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center is in the heart of Eastlake. The University District of Seattle real estate is, not surprisingly, home to the University of Washington Medical Center (as well as Harborview), and Beacon Hill is home to the Veterans Affairs hospital.
In many ways, then, Seattle real estate is defined and organized by its many health care organizations. Seattle is home to a wide range of world-class medical facilities - and is thus home to many well educated doctors, nurses, and surgeons. Seattle real estate, then, has a lot to offer to families and individuals from all walks of life.
