In recent years, soy candles have become increasingly popular for a wide variety of reasons. They have a number of benefits in comparison to traditional paraffin wax candles and are far more versatile. Not only are they cleaner but they burn longer and double as a moisturizer making them far superior to other candles.

Created as an alternative to paraffin wax, soy candles are natural and do not contain carcinogens or petroleum byproducts which can give off harmful fumes or soot that turn walls black. Soy wax is made from hydrogenated soybean oil which has a lower melting point allowing the candle to burn 30% to 50% longer than paraffin which means you buy new candles half as often. This lower temperature also helps to distribute the fragrance more evenly.

Not only to soy candles last longer, they are environmentally friendly products and help boost the US economy. Soy is a sustainable and renewable resource unlike petroleum which is limited. Grown and processed in the US, soybean farming keeps jobs in the US helping to support our economy. Because soy wax is water-soluble and biodegradable, spills are easy to clean and won't ruin fabrics or carpet.

The last, and probably most exciting feature of soy candles is their versatility. Since they are made from soybean oil, soy candles return to this state when burned and can be used for skin care. Soy oil contains Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids that help moisturize the skin as well as insolavones which are thought to be anti-carcinogens. Soy is a healthy, natural product that is more cost effective and longer lasting than paraffin and retains scent longer. Overall, the benefits and savings one can reap from the use of soy candles makes them solid competitor against any candle.
