If you're drinking mixed drinks, such as vodka and tonic, you may even be able to alternate between an alcoholic drink and just a sparkling water. Ideally, stay off the pain killers completely. Ultimately they'll just give your body even more work to do as well as the job it's doing fighting your hangover.
