Almost every person has suffered from the loss of a loved one due to illnesses, natural causes or accidents. Death due to prolonged illnesses or natural causes is devastating but gives you time to say goodbye to your beloved. On the other hand, unexpected death due to diseases or accidents is much harder to bear since it is all so sudden. Many people who have lost a loved one this way will naturally feel angry and depressed. Some would even be in denial for a long time.

Bereavement is a part the natural process of letting go and moving on. Some go through this stage easily while other need a longer time before they feel that they are emotionally ready. In some cases, you may have accepted the death of a loved one but have difficulties establishing new relationships for fear of losing that person again. Some would say that you have not yet completed the bereavement stage if you refuse to move on and lead a normal life.
