Coinflip Situation In Texas Hold'em - Do I Really Want To Be In This Type Of Situation In A Texas Hold'em Tournament?

One of the TOP ways a player is eliminated from a Texas Hold'em Tournament is pushing all-in with a hand like AK , AQ preflop before the cards are even dealt.

Now 50-55% of the time you will win those hands, so is it worth PUSHING all in everytime??

NO! It is not! If you do this EARLY in the tournament you are no better then a beginner who is just coming to take a chance.

This is really a common sense situation. If you consider yourself a good player, then why would you push all-in with a hand rather then outplay someone early in a tournament?

If the blind are 20/40 you are dealt AQ, you raise with 3000 chips behind you and someone goes ALL IN then you should FOLD.

On the other hand, if the blinds are 100/200 and you have 1200 chips and the same situation happens, then yes it is time to push.

You never want to have too many of your chips at risk if you do not have to.

I know sometimes as a player you get frustrated, but you must be patient.

Patience is one of the most needed traits as a player. You can sit in a tournament for over an hour and do nothing but fold. There is nothing you can do and you should not force yourself to make moves in a tournament.

So remember, never risk more chips then you have to early in a tournament.

I hope this helps some of you to reach more final tables and win more tournaments!

Until next time, good luck at the tables.
