Words of Wisdom From Down Under - Keep it Simple Mate!

In a desperate effort to understand who we are, and our purpose - humanity has continued to make things more difficult and has lost its way. He tries to dissect the cigar to understand why.
I talked to my publisher today, a couple of weeks after I sent him my new manuscript. He replied in an email that he liked the book but it was not for them, as it was written in a direction that they did not want to go.
What does that mean? I gave him a call yesterday and asked what he meant. I really appreciated his answer as I was looking for constructive criticism. I think that most of the time people are too polite and tell you what they think you want to hear. I.E., "I really liked your book, but I would never recommend it to anyone because..."
This is what I would like to hear, it would be the greatest help. It would be nice to keep the comments less complicated and truthful so that I don't have to read between the lines.
My editor said the book was too philosophical for the average man on the street in Australia and New Zealand. It read more like a book for university graduates. He invited me to rewrite the book and resubmit it in a less sophisticated form - something the man on the street could use and without the religious bashing (not in his words).
I was greatly appreciative of his comments and flattered that he thought is was too sophisticated. It is generally my way to write in simple language so that there can be no misinterpretation of the message I am trying to send. That part was good for the ego, but it means a whole lot more work to rewrite the book for those down under folks. It also sent a message to me, and it is the opposite of what I am trying to do. I have written several articles about keeping things simple and uncomplicated, and by writing this book I have clearly demonstrated my point. If no one can understand you because you have complicated matters, your message will not be heard.
One of things I least like about new age, is the jargon that is used is very much the jargon in religion with a new twist. It's not necessary, and it is used purposefully to raise the status of the belief system and make believers out of the common folk.
It seems to be a natural trend to move away from simplicity and lose ourselves in our own indulgence. So what I have been writing against, I have also demonstrated in the evolution of my own writing style. Complicated moves us away from our true nature and away from ourselves until we can no longer recognize the person we were. This is the process of evolution; we change and are no longer that which we were. But that does not mean we should lose are ability to communicate properly and in a meaningful way with those who are not where we are in their evolution.
The message in my new book "Led Down the Garden Path" is powerful and has huge ramifications for the new human that will take over long after we have gone. The message is both crystal clear and elegant, "You can't create something new, using old ideas." I am proud of the book the way it is, and it will be published before Christmas this year in North America - but I will create another version for the common side of Roy E. Klienwachter and for others who have chosen a less complicate life style.
The words we use and poor communication skills are the greatest separators of peoples. The words we choose also separates us from what we truly are and what we think we are. In an effort to be accepted by our readers, many authors lose site of the purpose for which we write our books - to communicate. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar and we don't have to make something else of it no matter how tempted we are. Honesty is purity of thought, and words spoken simply.
